Lepakshi and the Hanging Pillar
Around fifteen kilometres off the highway just across the Andhra border, the Veerabhadra temple at Lepakshi is one of the finest sixteenth-century Vijayanagara sites anywhere. Its celebrated hanging pillar rests fractionally clear of the floor - a cloth can be passed beneath it - and the ceilings carry the largest surviving mural on a single panel in India, showing the fourteen incarnations of Shiva in vegetable dye. Outside stands a monolithic Nandi carved from a single granite boulder, among the largest in the country. Visit in the morning. Allow ninety minutes for the temple and the Nandi, and it is easily the best short detour on any route out of Bangalore.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.
Chikkaballapur
Gateway to Nandi Hills
This is the easiest exit from Bangalore of any route we operate. NH 44 runs north past the international airport on six lanes from the start, and the airport traffic thins out beyond Devanahalli. Our drivers aim to be past the airport before 6:15 AM on a business departure, though this route is forgiving in a way most are not - there is no gate to make and no ghat to clear in daylight. Devanahalli is worth knowing about even without stopping: Tipu Sultan was born in the fort here in 1751 and the walls and bastions still stand a short distance off the highway, largely ignored by the traffic passing the airport. Chikkaballapur follows with the Nandi Hills rising to the west - the range where the Arkavathi, Palar, Ponnaiyar, Papagni and Chitravathi all rise, which is an unusual thing for one hill to manage.

Kodikonda
Border Town of the Deccan
Fifty kilometres of fast divided highway across increasingly dry country - this is the transition from the Karnataka plateau into Rayalaseema, and the landscape thins visibly. Bagepalli is the last Karnataka town, a market centre with little to detain a traveller, and the Andhra Pradesh border follows at Kodikonda where the checkpost and toll plaza sit. The interstate permit is presented here, arranged by us in advance so it is a formality rather than a delay. For most travellers the notable thing about this stretch is how quick it is - the highway is excellent, the traffic is moderate, and a hundred and ten kilometres passes in not much over an hour. It is also where the Lepakshi turn comes up, a short distance beyond the border.
Penukonda
Second Capital of Vijayanagara
The Lepakshi turn is around fifteen kilometres off the highway and it is the single best detour available on any road out of Bangalore. The Veerabhadra temple holds the hanging pillar, the great ceiling murals and, outside, a monolithic Nandi carved from one boulder. Ninety minutes covers it properly, and on a leisure trip it should be in the plan rather than considered. Penukonda comes next, and it is two things at once. Historically it is the fortress the Vijayanagara empire retreated to after Hampi fell, with the Gagan Mahal and the hill fortifications still standing. Commercially it is now the site of a major automobile plant and the supplier belt around it, which is why a share of our bookings on this route stop here rather than continuing. For business travellers this is the destination, at around 145 kilometres and two and a half hours from Bangalore.

Anantapur
Groundnut Capital of India
Sixty kilometres of continuing excellent highway through open, dry country. This is groundnut land - the district produces more of the crop than anywhere in India - and in season the fields and the drying yards along the road make that obvious. The Puttaparthi turn comes off this stretch to the east, around forty kilometres to the ashram town. Anantapur itself is a working district headquarters rather than a tourist city: an administrative and market centre in one of the driest parts of the country, built around the Anantasagaram tank that gave it its name. It has the services a traveller needs - fuel, hotels, hospitals, food - and it is the practical base for the district, which is where the real interest lies. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Anantapur by around 9:30 AM.

Urbania Packages for Every Group
Every quotation is built around what the group actually needs rather than picked off a fixed menu. The tiers below describe how we normally structure bangalore to anantapur urbania enquiries on this corridor.
Corporate and Delegation Urbania Package
The fastest growing booking type on this route, driven by the automobile plant and supplier belt around Penukonda. Visiting delegations, plant-visit teams and audit groups are the typical shape, and the Urbania suits them because twelve people arriving together in one vehicle is both cheaper and better presented than three cars in convoy. We quote the day as a package with a stated hour allowance rather than as two one-way trips, because the vehicle staying with you is the point when meetings run over or a second unit gets added. Documentation is handled up front: GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for purchase-order approval, monthly consolidated billing across repeat trips and thirty-day credit terms for signed accounts. Tell us whether Penukonda or Anantapur city is your destination, because the routing and the quote differ. See our corporate travels bangalore desk.
Pilgrimage Urbania Package
For groups visiting Puttaparthi, which is the single most common leisure destination in the district and draws people from across the world. The 12 and 13 seater are the usual choice for extended family parties. We plan these around the ashram timings rather than around the drive, since Prasanthi Nilayam operates its own schedule and conventions, and we advise confirming current darshan and visiting arrangements with the trust before travelling rather than assuming. For groups combining Puttaparthi with Lepakshi and Penukonda, a two-day itinerary works far better than trying to compress all three into one. Our 13 seater urbania rent bangalore configuration is the most requested size here.
Heritage Day Trip Urbania Package
The version of this route we would recommend to any group travelling for interest rather than obligation. Lepakshi and Penukonda together make one of the best day trips available from Bangalore — a sixteenth-century temple with the finest surviving murals in India, and the fortress capital the Vijayanagara empire fled to, within forty kilometres of each other and both a short detour off excellent highway. Leave at 6:30 AM, cover both properly, and be home by evening. Both involve walking in the open, so having the vehicle waiting with the air conditioning running matters more here than the drive itself does. For a longer version, add Tadipatri and Gooty across two days, which very few visitors ever do.
Luxury and VIP Urbania Package
For executive travel, client hosting and visiting delegations, which on a corridor with a major automotive plant is a regular requirement. This tier draws on the 15, 16 and 17 seater end of the fleet with the full recliner and dual-zone specification, a chauffeur in formal attire where the occasion requires it, and vehicle allocation confirmed by registration number rather than by class. On a route this short the argument is less about endurance than about what the vehicle says when it pulls up at a plant gate with an international delegation aboard. See the luxury urbania rental bangalore fleet and the 16 seater urbania configuration.
Fare Inclusions, Exclusions and Advance Payment
Every Tejas Tours and Travels quotation for the Bangalore to Anantapur Urbania corridor is issued in writing with the structure below. Nothing outside this list is charged, and everything inside it is stated before you confirm.
Advance payment: 20 percent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included in the Quoted Fare
• Toll and parking charges
• Interstate tax
• Driver bata after 9:45 PM, charged extra
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
• GST
Insurance note: Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel cover where required. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences.
Two points are specific to this route. First, the Andhra Pradesh interstate permit applies since the road crosses the border at Kodikonda, and it is quoted as a separate line at actual and arranged in advance so there is no delay at the checkpost. It scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater and we will show you both figures. Second, this is one of the few routes where a same-day return comfortably finishes inside the 9:45 PM driver bata threshold — a 5:30 PM departure from Anantapur gets a group home by around 9:00 PM — which makes the day cheaper here than on comparable corridors, and we say so rather than leaving it implied. Monument entry fees and ashram-related charges are paid on site.

How to Book a Force Urbania for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step
Booking a Force Urbania for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under 5 minutes. Follow these 4 steps.
Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels
• Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com — available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• Share these details when you make contact:
◦ Travel date
◦ Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park
◦ Destination or your full itinerary
◦ Number of passengers
◦ Preferred vehicle
• For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.
• For luxury vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Rolls-Royce, also mention the occasion — corporate, wedding or VIP event — so the team can ensure the best-condition vehicle and, where required, formal chauffeur attire.
• On this route, tell us whether Penukonda or Anantapur city is your destination, and name the specific plant or unit if it is a business visit, since the routing and the quote differ.
Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote
• Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.
• The quote clearly itemizes every charge:
◦ Vehicle hire rate — Rs/km or flat package
◦ Driver allowance — Rs 400 to 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class
◦ Applicable toll estimates
◦ Any interstate permit if applicable — Andhra Pradesh for this route, Tamil Nadu for Ooty, Kerala for Wayanad
◦ A stated hour allowance, on same-day return packages
• No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.
• For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.
• If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time — worth doing here, since the Andhra Pradesh permit scales with seating capacity.
Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance
• Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.
• A 20 percent advance payment confirms the booking.
• Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT/IMPS/RTGS bank transfer, or credit/debit card via payment link.
• Advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.
• For registered corporate accounts with credit terms, the advance is handled within the account arrangement rather than per booking.
• Your confirmation includes, all in writing:
◦ Driver name and mobile number
◦ Vehicle registration
◦ Departure time
◦ Pickup location
◦ Full billing breakdown
• For luxury vehicles such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class, the advance may be higher due to limited fleet and Bangalore peak-date demand — wedding season from November to February, and New Year.
Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early
• Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at your confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
• For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.
• The vehicle is clean, sanitized, fuelled and ready.
• For wedding and VIP bookings, the driver arrives in formal attire.
• The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.
• During the trip, the driver handles all routing, toll payments and Bangalore traffic navigation.
• At trip end, balance payment is settled after deducting the advance.
• Any additional km or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

What Our Customers Say About Our Urbania Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Anantapur Urbania
The bangalore to anantapur distance is around 205 km via NH 44 north through Devanahalli, Chikkaballapur, Bagepalli and Penukonda, with reported figures between 200 km and 215 km. An Urbania takes 3 hours to 3 hours 45 minutes with one halt. It is six-lane divided highway effectively the whole way with no ghat, no forest gate and no significant bottleneck beyond the exit from Bangalore, which makes it one of the most reliably timed routes we operate for a large vehicle.
Comfortably, and this route is unusual in supporting that for a full group. Leave at 5:30 AM and you are in Anantapur by around 9:30 AM; leave by 5:30 PM and you are home by around 9:00 PM, which is inside the driver bata threshold and makes the day cheaper than on comparable routes. That gives roughly eight usable hours on the ground. If your destination is Penukonda rather than Anantapur city it is easier still, at two and a half hours each way. We quote same-day returns as a package with a stated hour allowance rather than two one-way trips.
Worth settling at booking, because it changes both the routing and the quote. The automobile plant and the supplier belt around Penukonda sit on NH 44 at around 145 kilometres, sixty kilometres short of Anantapur city — a two-and-a-half hour run rather than three and a half. A large share of our group bookings on this corridor stop there. Tell us the specific plant or unit rather than just the district and the driver plans the approach and the gate accordingly, which for a delegation arriving to a scheduled slot is worth getting right.
Fares around Rs 17,100. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
Our Urbania fleet runs from 8 up to 17 seats, and as a working rule you should book one seat more than your headcount. Groups of eight to ten take the 9 or 10 seater, eleven to thirteen the 13 seater, and fourteen to seventeen the 15, 16 or 17 seater. Above seventeen we move you to a minibus or coach, which is common for larger plant visits and pilgrim parties. We do not operate a sleeper bus service — on a three-and-a-half-hour daytime run the question rarely arises, but we would rather say so plainly than leave it unstated.
Yes. The road crosses from Karnataka into Andhra Pradesh at Kodikonda, and an interstate permit is required for a commercial vehicle. Tejas Travels arranges it in advance and shows the cost as a separate line item in your quote rather than folding it into the base fare. You do not need to do anything and there is no waiting at the checkpost, which for a group of fifteen with a scheduled meeting matters. One point worth knowing before you pick a vehicle: the charge scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater. We show both figures at quotation.
Yes, and on this corridor it is a large and growing part of what we do. We provide GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice at quotation stage for purchase-order approval, monthly consolidated billing across repeat trips and thirty-day credit terms for signed accounts. For anyone running the Penukonda belt weekly or more, a standing account removes the per-trip advance and produces a single monthly invoice covering every vehicle used. Speak to our corporate desk rather than booking trip by trip, and tell us the expected frequency so the account is set up to match it.
Yes, and this is one of the few routes where that is genuinely convenient. Kempegowda International Airport sits directly on the outbound line, so an airport-to-Penukonda or airport-to-Anantapur transfer adds almost nothing to the run — a delegation landing in the morning can be at the plant by early afternoon without going into Bangalore at all. Share the flight number and the driver tracks live status and adjusts for delays. For international arrivals we allow extra margin at the Arrivals gate and the driver waits with a name board rather than calling.
Yes, and you should. Lepakshi is around fifteen kilometres off the highway just across the border and holds the hanging pillar, the finest surviving ceiling murals in India and a monolithic Nandi among the largest anywhere — ninety minutes covers it properly and there is parking for a large vehicle. Penukonda, the Vijayanagara capital after Hampi fell, is a short detour further on and takes about an hour. Together they make one of the best day trips available from Bangalore, and on a business trip either can be added to the return leg at little cost in time.
Yes, and it is the single most common leisure destination in the district. Prasanthi Nilayam sits around forty kilometres east of the highway near Penukonda, and we plan these days around the ashram timings rather than around the drive, since it operates its own schedule and conventions — dress modestly, expect silence in the main areas, and confirm current darshan and visiting arrangements with the trust before you travel, as they are set by them. For groups combining Puttaparthi with Lepakshi and Penukonda, a two-day itinerary works far better than compressing all three into one.
A 20 percent advance on the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle for your date, with the receipt issued within 30 minutes. For registered corporate accounts with credit terms, the advance is handled within the account arrangement rather than per booking. Included in the fare: base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Not included: toll and parking, interstate tax, driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. Monument entry fees and any ashram-related charges are paid on site. Note that on this route a same-day return generally finishes inside the 9:45 PM threshold, so the late-return charge rarely applies.
No, Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences, but passengers wanting personal travel cover should arrange it independently. Many corporate travel policies already provide this for employees on business trips, which is worth checking against your own arrangements. On timing: October to February. Anantapur is among the driest and hottest districts in India and April to June is genuinely severe, which matters a great deal if your itinerary involves forts or temples, since Lepakshi, Penukonda and Gooty all involve walking in the open. For business travel the season matters less than the departure time.
