Places to Visit in Coimbatore

Isha Yoga Center and the Adiyogi Statue
Thirty kilometres west of the city at the foot of the Velliangiri hills, the Isha Yoga Center is the largest single draw in the district and the reason a substantial share of our Coimbatore bookings exist. The 34 metre Adiyogi bust, recognised as the largest bust sculpture in the world, stands at the entrance and is genuinely startling at first sight, with the Dhyanalinga meditation shrine and Linga Bhairavi temple within the complex. Entry is open to visitors of any background at no charge. Visit early morning or at dusk when the Adiyogi is lit. Allow half a day, and note that Mahashivratri draws enormous crowds and needs planning well ahead.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Hosur
Little England of India
Departure timing does more for this journey than driving speed ever will. Our drivers reach the pickup point fifteen minutes early and aim to be past Electronic City before 6:15 AM, because clearing Silk Board at 6:00 AM instead of 7:30 AM saves close to an hour of standstill. Passengers boarding at Whitefield or Marathahalli are routed via Sarjapur and Attibele to bypass the Chandapura bottleneck. The road opens out immediately after Attibele. Hosur, just across the Tamil Nadu border, is called the Little England of India for its temperate climate and sits at the centre of a rose-growing and automotive manufacturing belt. Most travellers do not halt here - our drivers use it as the checkpoint that confirms whether the schedule is holding, and give an honest revised estimate if it is not. From Hosur the NH 44 is six-lane and excellent.

Krishnagiri
Mango Capital of Tamil Nadu
The fastest fifty kilometres of the journey: six-lane divided highway with gentle gradients and hill views on both sides, where the car settles into a rhythm and the trip finally feels underway. Krishnagiri arrives around 7:30 AM for a 6:00 AM departure. Krishnagiri is the Mango Capital of Tamil Nadu, and between April and July the roadside Banganapalli and Neelam stalls justify a stop on their own. A ninth-century hill fort is visible from the highway, and the KRP Dam catchment nearby makes a quiet break point. Practically, this is where Chennai-bound traffic peels off at Rayakottai and the road toward Salem thins noticeably. Our drivers usually push on to Salem for the main halt, but Krishnagiri is a reliable fuel and restroom point if you started very early.

Dharmapuri
Gateway to Hogenakkal
Sixty-five kilometres of good four-lane highway running south, the landscape drying out with granite hills in clusters on both sides. Traffic thins considerably after the Chennai exit and this is comfortable, undemanding driving. Dharmapuri is an agricultural district centre known for its mango and tamarind trade. The significant draw nearby is Hogenakkal, around forty-five kilometres east, where the Cauvery drops through a gorge and coracle rides run below the falls - spectacular after the monsoon, but a half-day detour rather than a roadside stop, and not something a straight Coimbatore run absorbs easily. Dharmapuri itself is a fuel and food stop, and it is the last easy one before the Thoppur climb.

Thoppur Ghat - Salem
Steep Climb of NH 44
Thoppur is the one demanding section on this route. The highway climbs steeply through the hills between Dharmapuri and Salem, and although four-laned throughout, the gradient is severe enough that loaded trucks slow to walking pace. Lane discipline deteriorates, overtaking gets optimistic, and a proportion of drivers treat the ghat as a racetrack. Our drivers hold back rather than joining in, which costs a few minutes and is the correct trade. Descending toward Coimbatore, engine braking matters more than the brake pedal, and this is the stretch where an experienced driver on the route is visibly different from one who is not. In the monsoon the surface holds water on the curves and visibility drops. Beyond Thoppur the road opens out and the run into Salem is excellent.

Avinashi
Ancient Temple Town of Kongu Nadu
Salem is the Steel City of Tamil Nadu, a major industrial centre built around iron ore, and it sits close enough to the midpoint to be the natural halt. There is an excellent cluster of highway restaurants with proper parking and clean facilities, and our drivers know which handle a quick turnaround. Budget thirty to forty minutes and use it properly, because the run beyond is fast and there is little reason to stop again. Leaving Salem the route joins NH 544 and turns west toward Erode and Avinashi - fast four-lane running through the Kongu plains, with the landscape turning to coconut, turmeric and textile country. Avinashi, near the end of this stretch, holds the Avinashi Lingeshwarar temple, an old and architecturally significant Shiva shrine directly on the road that most travellers pass without noticing. It is a worthwhile thirty-minute stop for anyone interested in temple architecture.

Coimbatore
Manchester of South India
The final fifty kilometres run southwest into the Coimbatore metropolitan area, and the character changes from open highway to a dense industrial corridor. Tiruppur, the knitwear capital of India, lies just off this stretch and its influence shows in the density of textile units and transport depots along the road. Coimbatore sits in the Palakkad Gap, the break in the Western Ghats that explains both why the city is where it is and why its climate is noticeably milder than the rest of the Tamil Nadu plains. The Nilgiris become visible to the north-west on a clear day. Traffic through the outer city builds through the day and the last stretch can take longer than the distance suggests at evening peak. For Coimbatore airport, note it sits east of the centre and is reached without entering the city core, so an airport drop is usually quicker than a city drop from this direction. A 6:00 AM departure with a proper Salem halt puts most travellers in Coimbatore between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

Urbania Packages for Every Group
Every quotation is built around what the group actually needs rather than picked off a fixed menu. The tiers below describe how we normally structure bangalore to coimbatore urbania enquiries on this corridor.
Corporate Urbania Package
Coimbatore is a major textile, engineering and manufacturing centre, and business travel is the largest single segment on this route. Team movements for plant visits, conference travel and multi-day site work are the typical shape, and the Urbania suits them because it carries a working group with luggage and lets people use the outbound leg rather than endure it. Documentation is handled up front: GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice at quotation stage for purchase-order approval, monthly consolidated billing and thirty-day credit terms for signed accounts. For business travel we route via Salem by default, because a predictable arrival time matters more than a better drive. See our corporate travels bangalore and employee transportation services bangalore programmes for ongoing requirements.
Family Urbania Package
For extended families travelling to Coimbatore for functions and temple visits, and for groups using the city as the first leg of an Ooty or Munnar trip. The 12 and 13 seater are the usual choice, with genuine luggage capacity for a seven-hour run and a wedding-length stay. We plan these journeys around a proper breakfast halt at Salem rather than a rushed one, an early departure to avoid arriving in evening traffic, and a temple stop at Avinashi if there is interest. Where the itinerary allows a daylight run and the group would enjoy it, we will suggest the Sathyamangalam route, which is a far better drive — but never at the cost of arriving after dark near the forest section. Our 13 seater urbania rent bangalore configuration is the most requested size here.
Isha and Pilgrimage Group Package
The Isha Yoga Center is the single most requested destination on this corridor, and group visits have their own shape: an early arrival to see the Adiyogi in good light, half a day at the complex, and often Marudhamalai and Perur added on the following morning. There is parking for a large vehicle at Isha, and the vehicle staying with your group matters because the centre sits thirty kilometres west of the city and the temple circuit runs in a different direction again. Mahashivratri is the exception that needs real planning — crowds are enormous, accommodation fills months ahead and vehicle access is managed, so a group booking for that period should be made far earlier than you would expect.
Luxury and VIP Urbania Package
For executive travel, client hosting and groups who want seven hours to be comfortable rather than merely survivable. This tier draws on the 15, 16 and 17 seater end of the fleet with the full recliner and dual-zone specification, a chauffeur in formal attire where the occasion requires it, and vehicle allocation confirmed by registration number rather than by class. On a route with the Thoppur ghat in the middle of it, suspension and seat comfort are functional considerations rather than cosmetic ones. See the luxury urbania rental bangalore fleet and the 16 seater urbania configuration. We will show the 13 seater total alongside it, since the Tamil Nadu permit scales with seating capacity.
Fare Inclusions, Exclusions and Advance Payment
Every Tejas Tours and Travels quotation for the Bangalore to Coimbatore Urbania corridor is issued in writing with the structure below. Nothing outside this list is charged, and everything inside it is stated before you confirm.
Advance payment: 20 percent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included in the Quoted Fare
• Toll and parking charges
• Interstate tax
• Driver bata after 9:45 PM, charged extra
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
• GST
Insurance note: Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel cover where required. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences.
Two points are worth understanding on this route specifically. First, tolls differ enormously between the two roads — the Salem corridor carries several plazas and a meaningful one-way toll cost, while the Sathyamangalam route is close to toll-free. Since tolls are billed at actual rather than estimated, your final settlement will differ depending on which road you travelled, and we will tell you the expected difference at the quotation stage rather than leaving you to discover it. Second, the Tamil Nadu interstate permit applies on both routes and is shown as a separate line item quoted at actual, not folded into the base fare. It scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater, which for a group of fourteen is worth seeing before you choose a vehicle.

How to Book a Force Urbania for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step
Booking a Force Urbania for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under 5 minutes. Follow these 4 steps.
Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels
• Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com — available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• Share these details when you make contact:
◦ Travel date
◦ Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park
◦ Destination or your full itinerary
◦ Number of passengers
◦ Preferred vehicle
• For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.
• For luxury vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Rolls-Royce, also mention the occasion — corporate, wedding or VIP event — so the team can ensure the best-condition vehicle and, where required, formal chauffeur attire.
• On this route, tell us your departure time and whether you have a fixed arrival commitment, since that decides whether we route via Salem or Sathyamangalam.
Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote
• Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.
• The quote clearly itemizes every charge:
◦ Vehicle hire rate — Rs/km or flat package
◦ Driver allowance — Rs 400 to 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class
◦ Applicable toll estimates, which differ substantially between the two routes
◦ Any interstate permit if applicable — Tamil Nadu for this route, Kerala for Wayanad and Munnar, Andhra Pradesh for Tirupati
• No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.
• For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.
• If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time — worth doing here, since the Tamil Nadu permit scales with seating capacity.
Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance
• Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.
• A 20 percent advance payment confirms the booking.
• Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT/IMPS/RTGS bank transfer, or credit/debit card via payment link.
• Advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.
• Your confirmation includes, all in writing:
◦ Driver name and mobile number
◦ Vehicle registration
◦ Departure time
◦ Pickup location
◦ Full billing breakdown
• For luxury vehicles such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class, the advance may be higher due to limited fleet and Bangalore peak-date demand — wedding season from November to February, and New Year.
Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early
• Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at your confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
• For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.
• The vehicle is clean, sanitized, fuelled and ready.

• The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.
• During the trip, the driver handles all routing, toll payments and Bangalore traffic navigation.
• At trip end, balance payment is settled after deducting the advance.
• Any additional km or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

What Our Customers Say About Our Urbania Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Coimbatore Urbania
The bangalore to coimbatore distance is around 360 km via NH 44 and NH 544 through Hosur, Krishnagiri, Salem and Avinashi, covered in 7 to 8 hours with one halt. The Sathyamangalam route through Kanakapura, Chamarajanagar and the Dhimbam ghat is shorter at roughly 324 to 340 km and can be quicker in light traffic, but it cannot be used at night. A large vehicle sits at the slower end of either range. Which route we take depends on your departure time, and we tell you which one before you travel rather than on the day.
It depends on when you are travelling and whether the arrival time is fixed. The Salem route is four-lane national highway, open around the clock, well lit and populated, with heavy commercial traffic and meaningful tolls — the right choice for night departures and any journey with a commitment at the far end. The Sathyamangalam route is shorter, quieter, more scenic and largely toll-free, but it has twenty-seven hairpin bends on the Dhimbam descent, very little infrastructure, no street lighting through the forest, and a night traffic restriction. For a daylight departure with time in hand it is the better drive.
Yes, in daylight, with a driver experienced on the road and a group that is not against a clock. Twenty-seven hairpin bends in a large vehicle is a different proposition from the same bends in a car, and we will say so plainly rather than let you find out on the descent. For corporate bookings with a fixed arrival we default to Salem regardless of vehicle size, because predictability beats scenery when somebody has a meeting. If your group specifically wants the Sathyamangalam drive, tell us at the quotation stage so we allocate a driver who runs it regularly.
Yes, but only via Salem. Traffic through the Dhimbam ghat and the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve is restricted at night — commonly cited as around 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM — because it is an active wildlife corridor with elephant crossings. The timings and terms are set by the forest department and can change, so we confirm the current position before departure rather than relying on a published figure. If your departure or expected arrival falls anywhere near that window, we route you via Salem rather than risk a vehicle full of people reaching a closed checkpoint.
Fares around Rs 29,500. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
Our Urbania fleet runs from 8 up to 17 seats, and as a working rule you should book one seat more than your headcount — on a seven-hour run with luggage for a multi-day stay, that rule earns its keep. Groups of eight to ten take the 9 or 10 seater, eleven to thirteen the 13 seater, and fourteen to seventeen the 15, 16 or 17 seater. Above seventeen we move you to a minibus or coach. We do not operate a sleeper bus service. For overnight travel on this corridor we recommend a Volvo or Benz seater coach from our 27 to 50 seater fleet, or a daytime Urbania run with a night halt at Salem.
Yes, on both routes, since the road crosses from Karnataka into Tamil Nadu shortly after Attibele. Tejas Travels arranges the permit in advance and shows the cost as a separate line item in your quote rather than folding it into the base fare. You do not need to do anything and there is no waiting at the border. One point worth knowing before you choose a vehicle: the charge scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater. We show both figures at quotation so the decision is yours.
Yes, and it is the single most requested destination on this route. The centre sits thirty kilometres west of the city at the foot of the Velliangiri hills, with parking that takes a large vehicle and free entry for visitors of any background. Allow half a day, and go early morning or at dusk when the Adiyogi is lit. Mahashivratri is the exception that needs real planning — crowds are enormous, accommodation fills months ahead and vehicle access is managed on the day, so a group booking for that period should be made far earlier than you would expect for an ordinary weekend.
Yes, and it is a common extension. Coimbatore sits at the foot of the Nilgiris, so Ooty is a straightforward continuation via Mettupalayam, and Munnar and Kodaikanal are both reachable onward into Kerala and the Palani hills respectively. A Kerala interstate permit applies for Munnar and is arranged by us. Tell us at the quotation stage so the kilometres and permits are in the plan rather than surfacing at settlement, and note that additional kilometres beyond the agreed itinerary are billed at the pre-agreed rate.
Yes. Coimbatore airport sits east of the city centre and is reached without entering the city core from the Avinashi direction, which usually makes an airport drop quicker than a city drop from this route. For flights we schedule arrival three hours ahead for international and two hours for domestic. Traffic through the outer city builds through the day, so for an evening flight we will build in more margin than the distance suggests and tell you why.
A 20 percent advance on the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle for your date, with the receipt issued within 30 minutes. Included in the fare: base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Not included: toll and parking, interstate tax, driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. The final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage, which is the standard commercial basis for outstation hire. Every exclusion appears in the written quote before you confirm, so nothing is added at settlement that you have not already seen.
No, Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences, but passengers wanting personal travel cover should arrange it independently, and for corporate and institutional groups a policy is usually inexpensive. As for timing: Coimbatore sits in the Palakkad Gap and its climate is noticeably milder than the rest of the Tamil Nadu plains, so it is comfortable most of the year. October to March is the easiest window. The monsoon makes the Thoppur curves hold water and reduces visibility, and it is also when the Siruvani and Vaidehi falls are at their best, so there is a trade-off.
