Places to Visit in Srisailam

Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi

Mallikarjuna Swamy and Bhramaramba Devi

The reason for the journey, and a genuinely rare combination - the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga and the Bhramaramba Shakti Peetha stand within the same walled complex, so a single visit covers one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas. The temple has fortified walls with carved reliefs running around them, some dating to the Vijayanagara period and among the finest stone narrative work in Andhra Pradesh. Visit early morning. Darshan arrangements, queue types and timings are administered by the temple devasthanam and vary considerably by day and festival, so confirm close to your travel date - and note that Maha Shivaratri brings crowds on an entirely different scale.

Patala Ganga and the Ropeway

Patala Ganga and the Ropeway

Patala Ganga is the bathing ghat on the Krishna below the temple, reached by a long flight of steps or by the ropeway that runs down the hillside - the descent is several hundred feet and the ropeway is the sensible option for most visitors, particularly on the way back up. Pilgrims bathe here before darshan, as at the great river ghats elsewhere. Visit in the morning while it is cool. The ropeway has its own timings and closes in poor weather, and queues build on weekends and festival days, so allow more time than the distance suggests.

Srisailam Dam

Srisailam Dam

One of the largest hydroelectric projects in India, holding back the Krishna in a deep gorge a short distance from the temple, with a viewpoint over the reservoir and the spillway. When the gates are open after a good monsoon the volume of water is genuinely startling, and it is worth timing a visit for. There is a lit view in the evenings. Note that the dam is a controlled installation, photography is restricted in places and access arrangements change, so follow signage and local direction rather than assuming. It is a fifteen-minute drive from the temple and takes under an hour.

Akkamahadevi Caves

Akkamahadevi Caves

Around sixteen kilometres upstream, these limestone caves on the Krishna are associated with the twelfth-century Kannada poet-saint Akka Mahadevi, who is said to have meditated here, and they hold a naturally formed lingam deep inside. The only access is by boat from Patala Ganga, and the round trip takes two to three hours on the water. Visit if you have the time and the day allows - it is not a compulsory stop and some visitors find the caves modest, but the boat journey up the gorge between forested cliffs is the real experience. Boats operate seasonally and depend on water levels, so confirm on the day.

Sakshi Ganapati and Sikharam

Sakshi Ganapati and Sikharam

Sakshi Ganapati, around three kilometres from the temple, is where by tradition Ganapati records the visit of each pilgrim to Mallikarjuna - the name means the witness, and devotees stop here to have their darshan noted. Srisailam Sikharam, some eight kilometres away, is the highest point in the area and gives a view of the temple gopuram from a distance; tradition holds that sighting the gopuram from Sikharam carries particular merit. Visit both as a short circuit after darshan. Together they take around ninety minutes and they complete the visit as pilgrims have made it for centuries.

The Nallamala Forest

The Nallamala Forest

Srisailam sits inside the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve, the largest tiger reserve in India by area, covering the Nallamala hills across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The forest is home to the Chenchu, one of the particularly vulnerable tribal groups of the region, who have lived in these hills for a very long time and whose relationship with the Srisailam shrine is recorded in local tradition. Visit in the sense of noticing where you are: the ghat drive in and out is through core tiger habitat, wildlife crossings are a genuine possibility, and the night restriction on the road exists for good reason.

Urbania Packages for Every Group

Every quotation is built around what the group actually needs rather than picked off a fixed menu. The tiers below describe how we normally structure bangalore to srisailam urbania enquiries on this corridor.

Family and Pilgrimage Urbania Package

The dominant booking on this route by a wide margin — extended families travelling for darshan at Mallikarjuna and Bhramaramba, often across three generations and frequently with a vow attached to the visit. The 12 and 13 seater are the usual choice, and multiple pickups across Bangalore are the norm rather than the exception. We plan these around two fixed points: clearing the forest ghat with hours in hand, and arriving in time for a proper darshan rather than at the end of the day. Drivers on pilgrimage bookings are selected for patience with long queue waits, which at Srisailam on a festival day can run to several hours, and for keeping the cabin cool and available while the group is inside. Our 13 seater urbania rent bangalore configuration is the most requested size here.

Two-Day Journey Urbania Package

The structure we recommend for any group that cannot depart before dawn, and for every group with elderly travellers. An overnight at Kurnool at 360 kilometres leaves an easy three-hour run to Srisailam the next morning, arriving fresh and in good time for darshan rather than after nine hours in a vehicle. Mahanandi and Nandyal, on the alternative approach, are the other common halt and are worth the visit in their own right — Mahanandi has one of the nine Nandi shrines of the region and a set of spring-fed temple tanks. The additional cost is modest against what it removes from the day, and for a group of fifteen with grandparents aboard we will make the case for it plainly rather than quietly quoting the single-day version.

Temple Committee and Community Group Package

Srisailam draws organised community pilgrimages as well as family ones, and these have a different shape: a fixed date, a larger headcount, a named coordinator and often a bus-sized party. Where a group runs to seventeen or fewer the Urbania is the comfortable choice; beyond that we move to a minibus or coach, and for very large movements we run several vehicles in convoy with one point of contact. Documentation is handled up front where an institution or trust is paying, including GST invoicing and a Proforma Invoice at quotation stage. Our corporate travels bangalore desk handles the invoicing side for organised groups and employee welfare pilgrimages, which are common on this corridor.

Luxury and VIP Urbania Package

For senior family groups, guest hosting and travellers who want an eight to ten hour day to be comfortable rather than endured. This tier draws on the 15, 16 and 17 seater end of the fleet with the full recliner and dual-zone specification, a chauffeur in formal attire where the occasion calls for it, and vehicle allocation confirmed by registration number rather than by class. On this route the practical argument concerns the second half: a slower undivided road followed by a forest ghat is noticeably easier in a vehicle with better suspension, and the elderly pilgrims who make up a large share of Srisailam traffic feel the difference at the far end. See the luxury urbania rental bangalore fleet and the 16 seater urbania configuration.

Fare Inclusions, Exclusions and Advance Payment

Every Tejas Tours and Travels quotation for the Bangalore to Srisailam Urbania corridor is issued in writing with the structure below. Nothing outside this list is charged, and everything inside it is stated before you confirm.

Advance payment: 20 percent of the total fare is payable in advance to confirm the booking.

Included in the Quoted Fare

•     Base fare and fuel charges

•     Driver allowance

Not Included in the Quoted Fare

•     Toll and parking charges

•     Interstate tax

•     Driver bata after 9:45 PM, charged extra

•     Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage

•     GST

Insurance note: Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel cover where required. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences.

Three points are specific to this route. First, darshan tickets, special entry arrangements, accommodation booked through the devasthanam, ropeway tickets at Patala Ganga, boat charges to the Akkamahadevi caves and any seva fees are all paid on site and sit entirely outside the vehicle fare — they are temple and local charges and we add no margin to them. Second, the Andhra Pradesh interstate permit applies and is quoted as a separate line at actual; it scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater and we will show you both figures. Third, on a two-day booking with a Kurnool overnight, the driver accommodation and second-day allowance are built into the package quote in writing at the outset rather than added at settlement.

How to Book a Force Urbania for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step

Booking a Force Urbania for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under 5 minutes. Follow these 4 steps.

Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels

•     Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com — available 24 hours, 7 days a week.

•     Share these details when you make contact:

◦      Travel date

◦      Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, Koramangala, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park

◦      Destination or your full itinerary

◦      Number of passengers

◦      Preferred vehicle

•     For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number. The driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.

•     For luxury vehicles such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes or Rolls-Royce, also mention the occasion — corporate, wedding or VIP event — so the team can ensure the best-condition vehicle and, where required, formal chauffeur attire.

•     On this route, tell us if elderly members are travelling and whether you want the one-day or two-day version, and list any additional pickup points across the city.

Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote

•     Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.

•     The quote clearly itemizes every charge:

◦      Vehicle hire rate — Rs/km or flat package

◦      Driver allowance — Rs 400 to 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class

◦      Applicable toll estimates

◦      Any interstate permit if applicable — Andhra Pradesh for this route, Tamil Nadu for Ooty, Kerala for Wayanad

◦      Driver accommodation and second-day allowance, on two-day itineraries with a Kurnool overnight

•     No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.

•     For corporate clients and trusts requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.

•     If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time — worth doing here, since the Andhra Pradesh permit scales with seating capacity.

Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance

•     Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.

•     A 20 percent advance payment confirms the booking.

•     Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT/IMPS/RTGS bank transfer, or credit/debit card via payment link.

•     Advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.

•     Your confirmation includes, all in writing:

◦      Driver name and mobile number

◦      Vehicle registration

◦      Departure time

◦      Pickup location

◦      Full billing breakdown

•     For luxury vehicles such as the Rolls-Royce Ghost, BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class, the advance may be higher due to limited fleet and Bangalore peak-date demand — wedding season from November to February, and New Year.

Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early

•     Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at your confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.

•     For KIA airport transfers, the driver coordinates at the Arrivals gate.

•     The vehicle is clean, sanitized, fuelled and ready.

•     For wedding and VIP bookings, the driver arrives in formal attire.

•     The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.

•     During the trip, the driver handles all routing, toll payments and Bangalore traffic navigation.

•     At trip end, balance payment is settled after deducting the advance.

•     Any additional km or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.

Quick Booking for Hire: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your vehicle preference, Bangalore pickup location, destination and travel date. Written quote in 2 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Srisailam Urbania

The bangalore to srisailam distance is around 530 km via Chikkaballapur, Anantapur, Gooty, Kurnool and Atmakur, with reported figures between 500 km and 540 km. An Urbania takes 8 to 10 hours, and the split matters more than the total: the 360 kilometres to Kurnool takes a little over four hours on excellent NH 44, while the remaining 180 kilometres takes three to four because the road is undivided and the final section is a forest ghat. A large vehicle sits at the slower end of that range.

Because the road changes completely at Kurnool. Everything to Kurnool is excellent divided highway; beyond it the road is undivided two-lane through Nandikotkur and Atmakur with villages on the road and local traffic, and the last eighty kilometres is a winding ghat through dense forest where the pace is slow by design. It is a good road, simply not a fast one. Anyone quoting ninety minutes for the Kurnool to Srisailam section has not driven it, and for a loaded fifteen-seater the figure is at the longer end.

The final approach is restricted. Traffic through the Nallamala on the ghat into Srisailam is controlled by the forest department at night, commonly reported as no vehicles after around 9:00 PM, because this is the core of the Nagarjunasagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve. Timings are set by the forest authorities and are subject to change, so we confirm the current position before departure. The practical rule is to leave Bangalore early enough that the ghat is cleared with hours in hand rather than planning an arrival that depends on making the gate.

Two, if the party includes elderly travellers or you cannot depart before dawn — and on this route that covers most of the groups who book it. An overnight at Kurnool at 360 kilometres leaves an easy three-hour run the next morning, arriving fresh and in good time for darshan rather than after nine hours in a vehicle. The additional cost is modest against what it removes from the day. We will make that case at the quotation stage rather than quietly quoting the single-day version, and we will build the driver accommodation and second-day allowance into the package in writing at the outset.

Urbania fare starts around Rs 43,100. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.

Our Urbania fleet runs from 8 up to 17 seats, and as a working rule you should book one seat more than your headcount — on a nine-hour pilgrimage day with a multi-generational family, that rule earns its keep. Groups of eight to ten take the 9 or 10 seater, eleven to thirteen the 13 seater, and fourteen to seventeen the 15, 16 or 17 seater. Above seventeen we move you to a minibus or coach, which is common for temple committee bookings. We do not operate a sleeper bus service. For overnight travel on this corridor we recommend the two-day itinerary with a Kurnool halt instead, which also solves the forest gate problem.

No. Darshan arrangements, queue types, special entry and devasthanam accommodation are administered entirely by the temple authorities through their own channels, and no transport operator can guarantee a slot. What we do is build the day around whatever arrangement you have made — including the early arrival that a good darshan requires — and our drivers know the temple approach, the parking and the ropeway access. We would treat any operator promising guaranteed darshan as part of a vehicle booking with caution, and we would rather say that plainly than let a family assume otherwise.

Patala Ganga is the bathing ghat on the Krishna below the temple, and the descent is several hundred feet — either a long flight of steps or the ropeway that runs down the hillside. For a group with elderly members the ropeway is not optional, and it is worth building the timing into the morning rather than arriving and discovering the steps. The ropeway has its own timings, closes in poor weather and queues build on weekends and festival days. Our drivers know the access and will drop your group at the right point rather than the general area, which on a hot morning with grandparents aboard makes a real difference.

Yes, and all three are worthwhile. Lepakshi is a short detour off the highway near the Andhra border, with the hanging pillar, the ceiling murals and the great monolithic Nandi — forty-five minutes and among the finest Vijayanagara sites anywhere. Puttaparthi lies off the highway near Anantapur. Mahanandi sits near Nandyal on the alternative approach and works best as an overnight halt on a two-day itinerary, with one of the nine Nandi shrines of the region and a set of spring-fed temple tanks. Tell us at the quotation stage so the kilometres and the time are in the plan rather than added on the day.

Yes. The road crosses from Karnataka into Andhra Pradesh at Kodikonda shortly after Bagepalli, and an interstate permit is required for a commercial vehicle. We arrange it in advance and quote it as a separate line at actual rather than folding it into the base fare. It scales with seating capacity, so a 17 seater carries a higher permit line than a 13 seater and we show both figures. On payment, a 20 percent advance on the total fare confirms your booking and holds the specific vehicle for your dates, with the receipt issued within 30 minutes. For Maha Shivaratri and other festival periods, book months rather than weeks ahead and expect a higher advance.

Included: base fare, fuel charges and driver allowance. Not included: toll and parking, interstate tax, driver bata after 9:45 PM, and GST. Darshan tickets, devasthanam accommodation, ropeway tickets at Patala Ganga, boat charges to the Akkamahadevi caves and seva fees are all paid on site and are not ours to bill — we add no margin to them. The final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage. On a two-day booking, driver accommodation and the second-day allowance appear in the written quote at the outset rather than at settlement.

No, Tejas Tours and Travels does not cover passenger insurance. Our vehicles carry the statutory motor insurance required under law and our drivers hold valid commercial licences, but passengers wanting personal travel cover should arrange it independently. We recommend it particularly for large extended-family and temple-committee groups, where a group policy is usually inexpensive and straightforward. On timing: October to March. Rayalaseema and the Nallamala from April to June are severe, regularly crossing the high thirties, and Srisailam sits where the heat settles. Maha Shivaratri, usually in February or March, is the largest festival of the year here and draws enormous crowds — extraordinary to witness, but queues run to many hours and the town is completely full, so book months ahead or avoid those weeks entirely if you want a calm darshan.
