Kukke Subramanya Temple
The principal shrine, where Subramanya is worshipped together with Vasuki, and the foremost Naga kshetra in South India. Pilgrims traditionally bathe in the Kumaradhara before darshan, and the sequence includes a circumambulation past the Garuda pillar, which tradition holds screens devotees from the venom of the serpent above. Visit in the morning. The temple keeps its own schedule with a midday break, seva timings run to their own list, and dress conventions apply - confirm anything your trip depends on close to your date.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Yediyur
Siddhalingeshwara Temple Town
The route leaves Bangalore northwest onto NH 75, and the Nelamangala junction is the only stretch that depends on timing rather than road - our drivers aim to be past it before 7:00 AM, since four corridors diverge there and weekend traffic builds quickly. Kunigal has one of the oldest stud farms in India, associated with Tipu Sultan. Yediyur, twenty-five kilometres on, has a lakeside Siddhalingeshwara temple and the best cluster of highway restaurants on this road - worth using properly, since the options thin considerably after Hassan and there is very little on the ghat.

Sakleshpur
Coffee Hill Town of the Hassan Ghats
Good four-lane highway as the landscape shifts into plantation country. Channarayapatna is the junction for Shravanabelagola, twelve kilometres off the highway, and Hassan is the base for Belur and Halebidu - both worth building in deliberately if you have a spare half day, and both easy to skip on a ritual booking where the date governs everything. Sakleshpur sits where the coffee and cardamom estates begin and the road starts to climb. It is the last town of any size before the ghat and the natural place to fuel and eat if you did not stop at Yediyur.

Gundya
Ghat Viewpoint of the Western Ghats
The Shiradi ghat drops from Sakleshpur toward the coast through dense forest, and long stretches have been rebuilt in concrete because the monsoon used to take the surface out annually. It is our default crossing when it is in good order, and our drivers check the position before departure rather than at the barrier - in a bad monsoon it has been restricted or closed, and the alternatives add hours. The Bisle viewpoint lies off this road through the Bisle reserve forest, and if the day allows it is worth the detour - three ranges of the Western Ghats visible from a single platform above unbroken forest, with nothing else there at all.

Kukke Subramanya
Naga Kshetra of the South
The last twenty-five kilometres turn south off the coastal road and run through forest into the valley of the Kumaradhara, with the country dense and green and Kumara Parvatha rising ahead - the peak is visible from some distance out and it dominates the approach. Kukke is a temple town in the full sense: the shrine, the river below it, pilgrim accommodation, seva counters and shops, arranged in a compact grid with hills close on every side. Vehicle access near the temple is managed and drops are at designated points, particularly during Champa Shashti and on ritual days. Our driver takes you to the confirmed address and assists with luggage. A 6:00 AM departure puts most travellers in Kukke by around 12:30 PM - which on a Sarpa Samskara booking means the afternoon before your ceremony, which is exactly where you want to be.

Tempo Traveller Packages for the Bangalore to Kukke Subramanya Route
Corporate Package
Built for Bangalore companies arranging employee pilgrimage travel, family day trips and community bookings, and for smaller groups combining Kukke and Dharmasthala with a Mangalore or Chikmagalur stay. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval, a named driver for the full multi-day trip, and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. A corporate tempo traveller bangalore booking covers the twelve to eighteen band that most single-team movements come to, and on this circuit the vehicle size is functional rather than a cost decision because the Gundya and Bisle roads reward it. Our corporate travels bangalore desk manages the arrangement end to end.
Family and Pilgrimage Package
The dominant booking on this corridor, and the one the route is really built around. Extended families travelling to perform Sarpa Samskara, Ashlesha Bali or Naga Prathishta together, usually across two or three days with a previous-evening arrival and a dawn pooja. The package is designed around that shape: the vehicle stays with the group, the driver runs the short trips to the snana ghat and Adi Subrahmanya without renegotiation, and there is rear space for pooja materials, offerings, traditional clothing for everyone and prasadam for the return. Dharmasthala on the second or third day completes the circuit. Where a group includes elders who cannot manage steps or the river ghat, tell us at enquiry and we plan the days around it.
Budget Package
For groups where cost per head decides the booking. Standard 12 to 14 seater AC tempo travellers, for the duration or point to point, no frills, clean vehicle, verified driver — the usual choice for samithi groups, community trips and pilgrimage associations travelling in numbers through the year. The tempo traveller rate per km in bangalore for the standard tier is the lowest of any vehicle in this seating band, and across a three-day circuit with a full group the saving against cabs is substantial. The budget tier is about vehicle specification and interior finish, never about maintenance or driver vetting — and on a route with the Shiradi Ghat in the middle, driver vetting is the part that matters.
Luxury Package
The luxury tempo traveller tier: wider push-back recliners in a reduced seat count, better sound insulation, individual AC vents and reading lights, and a more finished interior. On a route with a six to seven hour drive each way and a ghat descent, the difference is felt rather than admired, and this is the tier we recommend for any group with a significant number of elders — which describes most pilgrimage bookings here. Our luxury tempo traveller bangalore vehicles are held to a higher interior standard. For a step further in the same seating range, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration is the premium alternative on this route.
Our Vehicle Range in Bangalore
Our tempo traveller fleet covers 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations in standard AC and luxury trim. Around it we run a full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount changes after booking we can usually move you to another category without restarting the process.
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and luxury, the core vehicle for this route
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van, the premium option in a similar seating range
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, AC and non-AC, for larger family and samithi groups
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, including Volvo and Benz coaches, workable on the main route but not on the Bisle or Mallalli roads
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross and Fortuner through Commuter, Corolla Altis and Camry, up to Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. All our vehicles are seated configuration with push-back seats. On this route we plan a daylight run with a hotel halt at Hassan or at Subramanya itself rather than driving overnight — the Shiradi Ghat and the forest road from Gundya are not stretches we take in darkness with a full vehicle.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax, where an itinerary crosses into another state
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and ends when it returns. We factor this into the written quote, so the number you approve is the number you pay. On the Kukke route no interstate tax applies, since the whole circuit stays within Karnataka — a real saving against a Guruvayur or Tirupati trip of comparable length. The item to watch instead is driver night halt charges, which apply for each night the vehicle stays out. Because a Sarpa Samskara booking almost always means at least two nights, that charge is part of every realistic quote on this route, and we show it separately rather than folding it in.
Temple pooja and seva fees, accommodation, and any Forest Department permits for Kumara Parvatha are paid directly by the group and are not part of the vehicle quote.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Tempo Traveller for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step
Booking a tempo traveller for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.
Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels
• Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• Share your travel dates.
• Share your Bangalore pickup location — area or landmark such as Yeshwanthpur, Rajajinagar, Whitefield, Electronic City, MG Road, KIA airport, a hotel name or a tech park. Multiple pickup addresses are fine on this vehicle.
• Share your destination and full day-wise itinerary, including whether Dharmasthala, Bisle, Mallalli Falls or Mangalore are in the plan.
• Share your number of passengers.
• Share your preferred vehicle: standard AC or luxury tempo traveller, and the seat count.
• Tell us the pooja you have booked and its timing — Sarpa Samskara, Ashlesha Bali or Naga Prathishta — because a dawn pooja means arriving the previous evening and the whole itinerary is built backwards from it.
• Tell us if any members of the group cannot manage steps or the river ghat, so the days are planned around it.
• For KIA airport pickups, share the flight number — the driver tracks live flight status and adjusts pickup timing for delayed flights automatically.
Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote
• Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.
• The quote clearly itemises every charge:
• Tempo traveller hire rate — per kilometre or flat package
• Driver allowance — Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class
• Applicable toll estimates
• Driver night halt charges for each night of multi-day hire
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST
• Interstate permit only where the itinerary leaves Karnataka. Not applicable on the Kukke circuit.
• No verbal-only prices. Everything is in writing before you confirm.
• Temple pooja and seva fees, accommodation and Forest Department trek permits are paid directly by the group and are not part of the vehicle quote.
• For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.
• If you want to compare two vehicle classes — standard against luxury, or tempo traveller against Urbania — request both quotes at the same time.
Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance
• Once satisfied with the written quote, confirm via WhatsApp or phone.
• A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking and holds the vehicle on your dates.
• Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.
• Advance receipt within 30 minutes.
• Your confirmation includes:
• Driver name and mobile number
• Vehicle registration number
• Departure time
• Pickup location confirmation
• Full billing breakdown — all in writing
• Book the vehicle as soon as your pooja date is confirmed with the temple. Champa Shashti in November or December is the temple’s biggest festival and Subramanya fills completely; accommodation and vehicles both need arranging weeks ahead for that period.
Step 4 — Your Driver Arrives Early
• Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the confirmed Bangalore pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
• For multiple pickup addresses, the driver confirms the sequence with you the previous evening.
• The vehicle is clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready.
• The driver calls 30 minutes before arrival as a courtesy.
• During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments, the Shiradi Ghat descent and halt coordination.
• At Subramanya the driver stays with the group for the duration, including the early run to the snana ghat on a pooja morning.
• At trip end, balance payment is settled after deducting the advance.
• Any additional kilometres or hours are billed at the pre-agreed rate.
Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your group size, Bangalore pickup location, pooja date and travel dates. Written quote in 2 hours.

• Festival dates — Champa Shashti and other peak temple periods require a minimum 7-day notice for a full refund.

• Modifications — date changes, vehicle upgrades and route additions with more than 24 hours notice are accommodated at no penalty, subject to availability.

What Our Customers Say About Our Tempo Traveller Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to kukke subrahmanya Tempo Traveller
The bangalore to kukke subramanya distance by road is approximately 280 kilometres, running northwest on NH75 through Nelamangala, Kunigal, Yediyur, Channarayapatna, Hassan and Sakleshpur, down the Shiradi Ghat to Gundya, and then twenty-five kilometres east on a forest road to the temple. A tempo traveller covers it in 6 hours to 7 hours 15 minutes including one halt. The Ghat and the final forest stretch are both slower than the distance suggests, so allow more time than a map estimate gives you.
Yes, in almost every case. Sarpa Samskara is performed at dawn and the family is expected at the temple the previous evening, with specific conditions to observe beforehand. That makes this a two or three day trip rather than a day run, which is exactly why groups book a vehicle for the duration rather than a one-way transfer. Ashlesha Bali is performed in the morning session and is a little more flexible. Both need booking ahead through the temple — we do not arrange poojas, but we build the travel schedule backwards from whatever time the temple gives you.
Tempo traveller fare starts around Rs 14,500. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking and holds the vehicle on your dates. The advance must be paid digitally by UPI, bank transfer or card. A receipt is issued within 30 minutes and the balance is settled at trip end. Book the vehicle as soon as the temple confirms your pooja date — Champa Shashti in November or December fills Subramanya completely, and both accommodation and vehicles need arranging weeks ahead for that period.
We move the booking to the new date at no penalty, subject to vehicle availability, rather than treating it as a cancellation. Pooja dates being reassigned is common enough on this route that it is worth having a clear position on, and this is ours. Tell us as soon as the temple informs you and we will re-plan the itinerary around the new date.
Yes, and most groups do. Dharmasthala is sixty kilometres away and pairs with Kukke more often than not — a comfortable version runs three days with Kukke and the pooja on the first two and Dharmasthala on the third. Extending west to Mangalore and Udupi, or north to Horanadu, Sringeri and Kollur, turns it into a five or six day circuit. The whole of it stays within Karnataka, so no interstate permit applies. Share your day-wise plan at enquiry and we quote it as one figure.
No. Kukke Subramanya is in Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka and the whole route stays within the state, so no interstate permit or interstate tax applies. That is a genuine saving compared with a Guruvayur, Sabarimala or Tirupati trip of similar length. Only a continuation into Kerala or Goa would need a permit, which we arrange and itemise separately.
Our tempo traveller hire bangalore fleet covers 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 seater configurations in standard AC and luxury trim, and all of them reach Subramanya without difficulty. Under eight passengers a car or SUV is more economical; above eighteen a 12 to 24 seater mini bus works on the main route. Coaches manage the main road but not the Bisle or Mallalli extensions, so for a group planning those we would recommend splitting across two tempo travellers rather than one large vehicle.
October to February. The weather is comfortable, the Ghat is clear and the forest is at its best without being waterlogged. Champa Shashti, usually in November or December, is the temple’s principal festival and an extraordinary time to be there, though the town fills completely. The monsoon between June and September makes the Kumaradhara and the surrounding forest spectacular, but the Shiradi Ghat can be affected by landslides and occasional closures, so we plan around it where your pooja date allows a choice.
Cancelling more than 72 hours before departure carries no charge and the full advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Between 48 and 72 hours the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, between 24 and 48 hours 25 percent, and between 12 and 24 hours 50 percent. Multi-day temple circuits and Champa Shashti dates need a minimum 7-day notice, and luxury tier bookings 5 days, for a full refund. Temple-initiated pooja date changes are moved at no penalty, and a Ghat closure with no safe alternative is treated as force majeure with a full refund or free date change. On insurance: Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover, and passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and ghat route experience, but personal passenger cover is not part of the booking. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com — our tt vehicle enquiry and WhatsApp lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
