Sunrise Point and the Cloud View — The Reason You Came
The eastern edge of the summit is where everybody gathers before first light, and on a clear winter morning the sun comes up over a valley filled edge to edge with cloud. October to February gives the most reliable inversions. Get there twenty minutes before sunrise to find a spot, and carry a jacket: the summit runs several degrees colder than the city and the wind at the edge is sharp.

Bangalore
Departure Point
Your journey to Ooty begins from Bangalore, the gateway to South India's most beloved hill stations. Pick-up is available from any part of the city — Koramangala, Electronic City, Whitefield, Hebbal, Yeshwanthpur, Marathahalli, or Majestic. The most common route out of Bangalore takes you onto NH275, the six-lane Mysore Expressway, which is one of the smoothest and best-maintained national highways in Karnataka. An early departure between 5 AM and 6 AM is strongly advised to clear Bangalore city limits before peak traffic begins. The first 50 km on the expressway are fast, comfortable, and lightly trafficked in the early hours, setting a pleasant tone for the journey ahead. Our drivers are experienced in choosing the optimal departure window and route based on real-time traffic conditions, ensuring that the first stretch of your Bangalore to Ooty road trip is efficient, calm, and enjoyable from the very first kilometre.

Hebbal
Kempegowda’s Tank
Every northbound journey funnels through Hebbal, and the flyover is where the city commits to the airport corridor. Hebbal Lake beside it was created in the sixteenth century under Kempegowda I as one of a chain of tanks that kept early Bengaluru alive, and it is now a birding spot with pelicans in season. On a four in the morning bangalore to nandi hills cab you clear this in minutes; at seven you will not.

Devanahalli
The Birthplace of Tipu Sultan
Devanahalli is the highlight most travellers drive straight past. Tipu Sultan was born here in 1751, and the oval fort with its twelve bastions still stands off the highway, with the Venugopalaswamy temple inside it. The town is also known for the Devanahalli chakota, a pomelo with its own geographical indication tag. On an airport to nandi hills cab this is effectively your starting point, and the fort makes an excellent addition on the way back.

Nandi Cross and Karahalli
Where the Highway Ends
The turn off NH 44 at Nandi Cross is unremarkable to look at and is the real beginning of the trip. From here the road narrows and runs through grape and mulberry country toward the hill, now clearly ahead. Karahalli Cross, at the foot of the climb, is where cyclists gather before dawn, and on a sunrise run it is the checkpoint that tells you whether you made your departure window. Chikkaballapur, the district headquarters and centre of the local silk and grape trade, lies a few kilometres on.

Nandi Village
Home of Karnataka’s Oldest Living Temple
At the base of the hill sits Nandi village and the Bhoga Nandeeshwara temple complex, begun in the ninth century under the Nolambas and extended across five dynasties: Ganga, Chola, Hoysala, Vijayanagara and the Mysore rulers. It is widely counted among the oldest working temples in Karnataka and is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. Most people on a bangalore to nandi hills cab shoot past it on the way up. Do not; it deserves an hour on the way down.

The Ghat Road
Forty Hairpins to the Top
Roughly eight kilometres and about forty hairpin bends carry you from the plain to the summit, with the temperature dropping noticeably as you rise. Before daybreak the bends are shared with cyclists riding without lights and the occasional troop of monkeys. This is the stretch where a driver who knows the road earns his fee, and it is why we never put an unfamiliar driver on a pre-dawn Nandi booking.

Nandi Hills
Anandagiri, the Hill of Happiness
You arrive at roughly 4,850 feet, usually into cloud. Anandagiri became Nandidurga, the fort the British stormed in October 1791 after a long siege; Hyder Ali began a summer residence here that Tipu Sultan completed, and the British later used the hill as a hot-weather retreat. On a good morning the cloud sits below you in the valley and burns off in twenty minutes. That twenty minutes is what the four o’clock alarm was for.

Tempo Traveller Packages for the Nandi Hills Route
Corporate Package
Nandi Hills is the standard Bangalore team morning: out at four, sunrise at six, breakfast at nine, back at the desk by eleven, or on to a vineyard for the rest of the day. Includes GST invoicing, a Proforma Invoice for PO-based approval and consolidated monthly billing for registered accounts. Multi-point pickups across the tech parks are planned as a single route rather than left to the driver to improvise. Our corporate travels bangalore desk handles it end to end, and a corporate tempo traveller bangalore booking can be repeated on a standing arrangement for companies that do this quarterly.
Family Package
Extended family groups of ten to sixteen, often with children and grandparents in the same party, and usually first-timers. Designed around the practicalities: a single agreed pickup point rather than four, an unhurried descent, the Bhoga Nandeeshwara stop on the way down when the temple is open, and a proper breakfast halt rather than a packet of biscuits at the top. The vehicle waits at the summit throughout, so anyone who does not want to walk to Tipu's Drop has somewhere warm to sit.
Budget Package
For college groups, photography clubs, hostel outings and school excursions, all of which take this route constantly. Non-AC 9 to 14 seater tempo travellers, single pickup point, straightforward half-day package, clean vehicle and a verified driver. On a trip this short the tempo traveller rate per km in bangalore matters less than the package minimum, so we quote a flat half-day figure and the per-head cost across fourteen people is very small. AC is genuinely unnecessary on a pre-dawn winter run. The budget tier is about vehicle specification only, never about maintenance or driver vetting.
Luxury and Executive Package
Executive configuration with fewer, wider push-back seats, extra legroom and better sound insulation, which on a 4 AM departure is worth more than it sounds: half the group intends to sleep on the way up. Suited to client entertainment, senior management outings and family occasions where guests are visiting from outside the city. For a step further, our luxury urbania rental bangalore option in 13 to 17 seater configuration is a premium alternative on the same trip.
Our Tempo Traveller Fleet in Bangalore
Our ac tempo traveller bangalore fleet runs 9, 12, 14, 17 and 18 seater configurations. We operate the full range of group vehicles from the same Bangalore base, so if your headcount shifts after booking we can usually move you up or down a category without restarting the process.
• Tempo traveller — 8 to 18 seater, AC and non-AC, the core vehicle for this route
• Force Urbania — 13 to 17 seater luxury van
• Mini bus — 12 to 24 seater, for larger groups, subject to access rules on the hill road
• Bus — 27 to 50 seater, for large movements to the base and the valley
• Cars — 4 to 7 seater, from Etios, Dzire, Innova, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Fortuner and Commuter through Corolla Altis, Camry, Audi A6, Audi Q7, BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz S Class and Rolls-Royce Ghost
Tejas Tours and Travels does not operate sleeper bus services. Every vehicle in our fleet is seated configuration with push-back seats. On a trip of this length that makes no difference at all, though it is worth knowing if you are combining Nandi with an overnight Skandagiri trek, which we plan as a two-part booking with the vehicle held through the night.
Billing Details — What Is Included and What Is Extra
We quote in writing before you book and the quote itemises everything, so there are no surprises at trip end. A 20 percent advance of the total fare confirms your booking.
One thing works differently on a trip this short. Per-kilometre billing suits a 400 kilometre outstation run; it does not suit a 130 kilometre round trip that occupies six hours and starts at four in the morning. Most Nandi Hills bookings are therefore quoted as a flat half-day or full-day local package with a minimum kilometre and hour allowance included, and additional kilometres or hours beyond that billed at the pre-agreed rate. We will show you both the package figure and the per-kilometre rate so you can see how the number is built.
Included in the Quoted Fare
• Base fare and fuel charges
• Driver allowance
Not Included — Billed Separately at Actuals
• Toll charges and parking fees
• Interstate tax, where a trip extends beyond Karnataka
• Additional driver bata after 9:45 PM
• GST as applicable
• Final rental is calculated on total kilometres and hours from our garage to garage
The garage-to-garage basis is standard across the organised group transport industry in Bangalore. The meter starts when the vehicle leaves our garage for your pickup point and stops when it returns. On a pre-dawn Nandi booking this is worth understanding, because the vehicle leaves our garage well before your pickup time, and we factor that into the package figure rather than adding it later. The number you approve is the number you pay.
Nandi Hills entry charges for passengers and the vehicle are set by the administration, paid at the gate and billed at actuals. Vineyard tour fees, where applicable, are paid directly by the group.
Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover. Passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if required. Vehicle insurance and full statutory driver and vehicle compliance are maintained across the fleet.

How to Book a Tempo Traveller for Rent in Bangalore — Step by Step
Booking a tempo traveller for hire in Bangalore with Tejas Travels takes under five minutes. Follow these four steps.
Step 1 — Contact Tejas Travels
• Call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773, or email info@tejastravels.com. Available 24 hours, 7 days a week.
• Share your travel date, and say whether it is a weekday or a weekend, since the experience at the gate differs considerably.
• Share every Bangalore pickup point, not just the first one. On a 4 AM departure the pickup order decides the whole schedule.
• Tell us whether you are going for sunrise or a later start, so we can work the departure time back from it.
• Share the number of passengers.
• Share your preferred tempo traveller tier: Standard AC, Executive or Luxury.
• Tell us what else is in the plan — Bhoga Nandeeshwara on the way down, a breakfast halt, a vineyard tour, Muddenahalli or Avalabetta — so the package covers the right hours.
• For a Skandagiri night trek combined with Nandi, say so, since the vehicle is held overnight and the booking is quoted differently.
• For corporate bookings from Bangalore tech parks, share your GST number and preferred invoicing format.
Step 2 — Receive Your Written Quote
• Within 2 hours of your enquiry, Tejas Travels sends a written quote via WhatsApp or email.
• For Nandi Hills the quote is normally a flat half-day or full-day local package, with the minimum kilometre and hour allowance stated.
• The per-kilometre rate is shown alongside it, along with the rate for additional kilometres and hours beyond the package.
• Driver allowance is stated separately, at Rs 400 to Rs 1,000 per day depending on vehicle class.
• Toll and parking estimates are included, and Nandi Hills entry charges are shown as billed at actuals.
• No interstate permit applies on this route, and the quote will say so.
• GST is shown as a separate line.
• No verbal-only pricing. Everything is in writing before you commit.
• For corporate clients requiring reimbursements, a Proforma Invoice can be issued at this stage.
• If you want to compare two vehicle classes, request both quotes at the same time.
Step 3 — Confirm Your Booking and Pay Advance
• Review the written quote and confirm via WhatsApp or phone.
• A 20 percent advance payment of the total fare confirms the booking and guarantees the specific tempo traveller variant on your date.
• Payment options: UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm), NEFT, IMPS or RTGS bank transfer, or credit and debit card via payment link.
• Advance receipt is issued within 30 minutes.
• Your confirmation includes the driver name and mobile number.
• It also includes the vehicle registration number, the pickup sequence with a time against each point, and the full billing breakdown.
• Share the driver's number with everyone in the group, not just the organiser. At 4 AM that saves a great deal of trouble.
• Weekends, public holidays and the November to February window are the busiest. Book several days ahead.
Step 4 — Your Driver and Tempo Traveller Arrive Early
• Your assigned Tejas Travels driver arrives at the first confirmed pickup point 15 minutes before scheduled departure.
• The vehicle is clean, sanitised, fuelled and ready, with the heater working on winter mornings.
• The driver calls each pickup point ahead of arrival rather than waiting silently at the kerb.
• During the trip the driver handles all routing, toll payments and the gate formalities at the base.
• The climb is driven at a pace suited to the road and the visibility, particularly in fog.
• At the summit the driver parks and waits for as long as the group wants to stay.
• At trip end the balance is settled after deducting the advance.
• Any additional kilometres or hours beyond the package are billed at the pre-agreed rate.
Quick booking: WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your group size, all Bangalore pickup points, travel date and whether you want sunrise. Written quote in 2 hours.

Cancellation Policy — Tempo Traveller Hire in Bangalore
Tejas Travels maintains a fair, transparent and tiered cancellation policy. All terms are communicated in writing at booking confirmation. There are no hidden conditions.
• More than 72 hours before departure — no cancellation charge. 100 percent of the advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days.

• 24 to 48 hours before departure — 25 percent of the total trip fare. The advance is refunded less the 25 percent deduction.
• 12 to 24 hours before departure — 50 percent of the total trip fare. The advance is refunded less the 50 percent deduction.

• No-show, where the vehicle is deployed and the group is absent — 100 percent of the total trip fare. No refund. The full fare is payable. On a pre-dawn booking the vehicle leaves our garage hours before the pickup, so this is applied as written.
• Cancellation by Tejas Travels due to breakdown or force majeure — no cancellation charge. 100 percent refunded within 2 working days, or a substitute vehicle is offered.
Special Cancellation Conditions
• Access closure at Nandi Hills — if the administration closes the hill or suspends vehicle entry on your date, and you cancel on that basis before departure, we treat it as force majeure with a 100 percent refund within 2 working days.
• Weather — fog or cloud at the summit is normal and is not grounds for a refund, since the hill remains open and the trip goes ahead. We will set out what the season usually brings so you can choose your date accordingly.
• Luxury vehicles — minimum 5-day notice for a full refund, given limited Bangalore fleet and wedding season demand.
• Peak dates — weekends, public holidays, New Year, Diwali, Dasara and Bangalore long weekends require a minimum 48-hour notice for a full refund. Less than 24 hours is non-refundable.
• Force majeure — Bangalore bandhs, traffic disruptions and road closures attract a 100 percent refund within 2 working days regardless of notice period.
• Modifications — date changes, vehicle upgrades and route additions with more than 24 hours notice are accommodated at no penalty, subject to availability.
To cancel, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 with your booking reference. Cancellation confirmation follows within 2 hours, and the refund goes to your original payment method within the stated timelines.

What Our Customers Say About Our Tempo Traveller Services in Bangalore
Why Choose Tejas Tours and Travels?
Frequently Asked Questions — Bangalore to Nandi Hills Tempo Traveller
The bangalore to nandi hills distance is approximately 60 kilometres from north Bangalore and about 70 from the city centre, via NH44 through Yelahanka and Devanahalli to the Nandi Cross exit, then the state road to the base and eight kilometres of hill road to the top. In a tempo traveller it takes 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours including the climb. At 4 AM the roads are clear and the drive is easy; by 9 AM the return leg through Yelahanka and Hebbal can take twice as long.
Work backwards from sunrise, which is around 6:35 to 6:45 AM in December and January and closer to 5:55 AM in June, and aim to be at the viewpoint twenty minutes before it. A group with pickups on the north side — Hebbal, Yelahanka, Jakkur, Thanisandra — can leave around 4:30 AM in winter. A group starting from Electronic City, Koramangala or Whitefield needs to be moving by 3:30 AM, because crossing the city adds forty minutes even with empty roads. Give us every pickup point at enquiry and we will build the schedule around them.
Access timings, entry charges and vehicle rules at Nandi Hills are set by the administration and have changed several times in recent years, including the gate opening time and the arrangements for vehicles going to the top. For that reason we confirm the current position shortly before every booking rather than quoting a figure that may be out of date. Entry charges for passengers and the vehicle are paid at the gate and billed at actuals. Your driver will have the current arrangement and will tell the group leader what to expect.
It is the busiest time and the queue at the base gate can be long, sometimes long enough that groups miss the sunrise they got up at 3:30 for. If your dates are flexible, a weekday visit is a substantially better experience for the same money. If a weekend is the only option, leave earlier than you think you need to and expect company at the railing. We will say plainly at enquiry what a weekend departure is likely to involve.
November to February. Those are the cold, clear mornings when the valleys fill with cloud below the plateau and the sun comes up out of it, which is the view everyone has seen photographs of. It is genuinely cold at the top before dawn and most first-timers underdress. The monsoon months are frequently fogged in at the summit with visibility of a few metres, which some groups enjoy and others find a wasted early start. March to May gives clear mornings but rarely the cloud.
Tempo traveller fare costs around Rs 8,000. The final figure depends on vehicle class, number of days and total kilometres run. Since billing is garage to garage on actual kilometres and hours, we issue a written itemised quote within 2 hours rather than a verbal estimate.
The climb is about eight kilometres with roughly forty bends and is narrow, with traffic coming down while you go up. A 9 to 18 seater tempo traveller handles it comfortably and is the practical ceiling for most groups. Below eight passengers a car is simpler and cheaper. Above eighteen, access rules for larger vehicles on the hill road have changed more than once, so tell us your headcount early and we will confirm what is permitted on your date rather than assume.
Yes, and these are the three most common additions. Bhoga Nandeeshwara at the foot of the hill is the natural stop on the way down, when it is open and the light is good, and it costs almost nothing in time. The Nandi valley vineyards run tours and tastings that need booking ahead and are not available every day. Skandagiri is a night trek starting around midnight and subject to forest department permission, so combining it with a Nandi sunrise means holding the vehicle overnight, which we quote as a different booking shape.
Yes. The driver parks at the summit parking area and waits for as long as your group wants to stay, then takes the descent unhurried. Most groups spend two to three hours at the top, which the standard half-day package covers. If you plan to stay longer, add a vineyard tour, or continue to Muddenahalli or Avalabetta, tell us at enquiry so the package is quoted for the right number of hours rather than running into additional hours at settlement.
Cancelling more than 72 hours before departure carries no charge and the full advance is refunded within 5 to 7 working days. Between 48 and 72 hours the charge is 10 percent of the total fare, between 24 and 48 hours 25 percent, and between 12 and 24 hours 50 percent. A closure of the hill by the administration is treated as force majeure with a full refund; fog or cloud at the summit is not, since the hill stays open and the trip goes ahead. Note that on a pre-dawn booking the vehicle leaves our garage hours before your pickup, so no-show terms are applied as written. On insurance, Tejas Tours and Travels does not provide passenger insurance cover, and passengers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance if they wish to be covered. All vehicles carry valid insurance and full statutory compliance, and every driver is verified with a commercial licence and route experience. To book, call or WhatsApp +91 9980277773 or email info@tejastravels.com. Our enquiry lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
